Episode 8: 22nd February 2018

Episode 8 opens with a discussion on Changemakers and social entrepreneurship.

The New York Times article we referenced is from 9th Feb and is called Everyone a Changemaker.

The social enterprise funding and support organisation that supported Heather with her own social enterprise is called UnLtd. Take a look at their website for more information.

If you are interested in embedding your values into your articles of association then explore the new online tool called Purposely. You don’t need to adopt to changes that this tool comes up with, you might just find it useful to reflect and review your company’s purpose. The blog we referred to here was on the Companies House website blog.

Events mentioned in today’s show are:

Neurosculpting by Lisa Wimberger was the subject of our review this week and the blog article that Heather found is called Brain Training for Business by Susan Aplin Pogue.

The famous entrepreneur featured in today’s show is Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop. Her autobiography is called Body & Soul: How to succeed in business and change the world.

“We entrepreneurs are loners, vagabonds, troublemakers. Success is simply a matter of finding and surrounding ourselves with those open-minded and clever souls who can take our insanity and put it to good use.”

“I want to work for a company that contributes to and is part of the community. I want something not just to invest in. I want something to believe in.”

“If you think you are too small, try going to bed with a mosquito.”

Remember, you are the community and we welcome your comments below. Please keep them kind or at least be constructive in your criticisms.
