Episode 70: 6th June 2019

Industry 4.0, Amazon, Waitrose, Hot Chocolate shoes and former restaurateur Sarah Willingham are in the spotlight this week.

It’s not very long ago that the terms Big Data, Cloud Computing and the Internet Of Things were first coined but these, as it turns out, were just the beginning of something which is now known as the 4th Industrial Revolution. This week we take a look at what that means for businesses of all sizes and for the workforce of the future.

We all know that the shape of our high street and of retail in general is changing and evolving in more ways than we could ever have imagined. As things continue to be shaken up this week we talk about some pilot schemes that are being trialled around the country.

Our spotlight this week shines on the private but successful entrepreneur Sarah Willingham from The Bombay Bicycle Club and Dragon’s Den fame. Her success story is an interesting one which seems to have evolved rather than been planned, although she works hard to make sure she gets her work life balance just right.
