Episode 69: 30th May 2019

Tourism trends, a couple of great books and the founder of Innocent Drinks, Richard Reed.

As our thoughts turn to summer holidays and lands far away we decide to take a look at the stats being released by our friends at the ONS who reveal incoming and outgoing holiday migration and the money, jobs and trends associated and it’s fair to say the numbers are significant.

In our ‘Show and Tell’ section this week we both profile books. Tracy found inspiration in How To Design TED Worthy Presentation Slides by Akash Karia, a book which Heather immediately bought once we were off air. Another fun book which caught Heather’s eye is Show Your Work by Austin Kleon aimed at those who make things to sell but which also has some key messages for any business owner.

And to round things off this week we take a look at the founder of Innocent Drinks, Richard Reed. We’ve all seen those scrummy fruit based smoothies in their fun ‘whackaging’ with smiley faces and quirky quotes on the supermarket shelves well, these tiny netted a significant sum for Mr Reed and he’s doing good work with the profits.
