How to survive a Cyber attack, The Greatest Salesman and the MD of Etsy are on the agenda this week.

According to 2017 research approximately 58% of data breach victims are small businesses and when 60% of breaches come from inside a business and the remainder whilst external are becoming more and more sophisticated each day it’s time we took at look at how to prevent and how to survive a Cyber attack.

The National Data Security Centre is home to guidance for business of all shapes and sizes as well as providing guidance for personal security which might just be worth sharing with your staff to avoid this inadvertent compromises of security that can lead to a whole world of pain. And if you don’t believe us, as Tracy, she’s had first hand experience of this kind of headache.

Our review this week is a somewhat quirky publication first published in 1969 but with a message that has travelled well through time and gives some great recommendations of habits that we can all develop if we want to become The Greatest Salesman (or woman ) in The World.  That may sound somewhat ambitious but as the book states, ”Failure will never overtake you if your determination to succeed is strong.” and once you’ve read all 65 pages you might just agree.

For our business personality this week we focus on a lady whose personality is hard to unearth other than to discover that she spotted her ideal job and went all out to get. Annette Picardo is the MD of online retailer Etsy and she is nothing if not committed to the cause of promoting handmade, unique and vintage items for sale via the internet.
