Episode 62: 4th April 2019

Finding finance for business,  how to avoid procrastination and Dame Cilla Snowball feature this week.

It’s fair to say that the way we finance our business has changed considerably in recent years and this, understandably, has led to an increase in creativity when it comes to raising funds. This week we look at how Crowdfunding and Kickstarter campaigns can raise some much needed dough and shine a light on the multitude of ways money can be raised for business investment. Check out Alternative Business Funding and Angel’s Den to sound out your options.

Our book review this week fell slightly foul of the Kindle app which may have contributed to our lack of enthusiasm for the digital version. The Anti Procrastination Mindset by Harry Heijligers looks at what it is that stops us from just knuckling down and getting stuck in to some tasks and/or projects. Let us know what you think.

The name Cilla (short for Priscilla) must be pretty rare because when you couple it with the surname Snowball you have to go a long way through the 12 page Google search result to find an entry that isn’t about the former AMV BBDO Chief Executive and Chairman. Made a Dame in 2017 Ms Snowball has a down to earth and ordinary approach to life which must, in some way, have contributed to her  success in the world of advertising.
