Episode 59: 14th March 2019

The Chancellor’s Spring Statement, how to wrestle with a pig (yes you read that right) and the man who made mobile phones great John Caudwell.

In amongst all of the Brexit debate the Chancellor found time to review, write and deliver his spring statement for 2019. We take a quick look through the key points and how they impact on business and personal taxation.

If you’ve ever found yourself wrestling with a pig of a problem then this week’s review is the one for you. One of our favourite books to date, Pig Wrestling is an easy to navigate and thought provoking approach to tackling problems of all shapes and sizes.

If, like us, you can remember the days before mobile phones you will also probably remember the first time you encountered the telephone technology that would transfer the world as we know it. John Caudwell is in the spotlight this week as we unearth how he spotted an opportunity and quite literally took a punt on it.
